  1. Abstraction: Use interfaces or abstract classes to define abstractions. Concrete classes can then implement these abstractions.

  2. Polymorphism: Utilize polymorphism to allow different implementations of an abstraction to be used interchangeably.

  3. Strategy Pattern: This design pattern allows behavior to be selected at runtime, facilitating extension without modification.

  4. Template Method Pattern: Defines the skeleton of an algorithm in a method, deferring some steps to subclasses.

When to Apply OCP
